Sight that I like Russian Red. I loved his I Love Your Glasses, and it seemed to me that there was occupying a niche on the Spanish musical market that long time ago who needed a good push. It demonstrated that to be indie – or to try it – and to sell they do not have to go necessary in conflicting currents, and his direct one perfectly calculated in small and intimate places, turned into one of the must of last year.
Across MySpace, Lourdes has allowed us to throw a glance to ‘The Trees, The Sun‘, an unpublished topic much in the line that it marked with his début. Recorded at home and accompanied only by his inseparable guitar, his sound keeps on being unmistakable, largely thanks to a voice that is difficult not to recognize.
His tour of two years has already finished, and the moment to compose again facing the second disc has come. It is not that during this tour it has left aside these fights, at the beginning of year we could listen ‘Sadie‘, in a style much drifted apart from his habitual acoustic folk and that from my point of view does not favor it so much. This joined the declarations in which he affirms to want to enter other artistic disciplines, makes me think that the second disc, if it comes, perhaps should pass for an alternative way to which Lourdes chose in the first moment.
