That of Deftones is one of the best examples of that in this life one cannot entrust of the plans that it has tracings, because when less you wait to yourself for it there comes a blow that changes everything. When the things seemed to go noisily in the process of creation of Eros, which had to be his sixth study album, there came the unfortunate accident of Chi Cheng who threw everything to the fret.
One year later, the Californian bassist continues in comma, and the rest of the band has been centred especially on tasks of compilation of money to finance his treatment. In the middle of so unpleasant situation, Eros has remained delayed by indefinite time, and in his place they have begun being employed at another album of unknown title, but whose date of issue has been already confirmed: On April 27.
As Cheng substitution will be Sergio Vega, which was a Quicksand bassist, and in the production we have the whole expert in this area as he is Nick Raskulinecz. That between the pretensions of the group was returning to his original, most rabid and powerful sound, was something that we already knew; on it, the vocalist Chino Moreno contributes some new information:
“When it is formed your brain is going to do dust, but the best thing of everything is that it sounds massively. It has our sound in the base, but once again it is different from the rest of our discs. We know that we have a brutal album and of that we are completely proud. You will understand the porqué when you hear it.”
The best of the matter is that really it is not missing so much to hear it, since in little more than four months we have it in the street and it is me who says that some advance will fall down for the way. It costs that when a group starts with the promises to return to the old times, a small alarm ignites in our head, that is inevitable, but even with everything I have a lot of faith in what Deftones could have between hands. Ah! And I hope it falls down some date for our country in the tour that they will begin in February.
