Lady Gaga - The Fame Monster: another side of the reputation

The Fame Monster

To create a personage, to support it inside certain verisimilitude limits and to do that it triumphs are three steps I satiate complicated that Lady Gaga has been able to give without hurries but with steadfastness, and his reward was The Fame, one of the most sold discs of last year, accompanied by a generally positive criticism and by a pursuit truly spectacular fan.

Designed in the first moment as an attached disc for a special edition of The Fame, The Fame Monster was thrown finally like an EP separately on having thought that the price of this edition would be excessive bearing in mind the current economy and the progressive slope of the sales of discs in general. With a base pop and electronics since it had his début, in this occasion the Germanotta is praised by another side of the reputation, which does not deal with the money and the recognition, but with the darkness, the decline and the abandonment of star system.

Bad Romance ‘opened it forbids it of the singles, demonstrating that when a formula works, to repeat it is possibly the most intelligent thing. Lady Gaga has in his favor what different do not have, and the fact is that with only one disc behind him there can be allowed the luxury of recycling ideas without it turning out to be an autoindulgence exercise. The problem, clearly, the fact is that it is not going to be able to keep on doing it indefinitely if he does not want to stagnate like any sacred cows of pop, which they try to keep on selling by force of repeating themselves up to the exhaustion.

It does not enter as easily as ‘Just Dance‘, but certainly it wins after a few listening up to turning into this unbearable melody that you adheres to the eardrum. And the video has no loss, with a Gaga deformed even the most extreme anorexia – for computer, do not get alarmed.

The Fame Monster continues without losing the sound synth in topics as ‘I Danced in the Dark‘ or ‘Telephone‘, where he collaborates with Beyoncé and who has promised to be like simple second. Beyoncé makes in this song what better one gives him, contribute this exotic air where certainly it is shown always, imposing an entire change of rhythm that fits like a glove, and the fact is that I like this girl much more when he collaborates that when it leads. It is not the first time that they throw a hand to hand, you can throw a glance to the video of ‘Video Phone’, where the prima donna of R&B is truly spectacular.

Inside this sound electronic so years 80 it is still ‘Monster‘, and with a completely ethnic point ‘Teeth‘ comes, with a rhythm in the percussion practically turned in sampler on the one that is adding the wind section metal to himself and that serves like exceptional conductive line of the whole topic. One of the out-standing ones.

Note To be an EP of 8 songs that was going to be thrown like ready bait of The Fame, it is worth it much more than a lot of finished works that are extracted nowadays, and looks like to me the whole honesty exercise on the part of the artist and his company – yes, of marketing also, I do not discuss it, but of good marketing. Or had you preferred a remixes compilation, as more of one has done and has remained so wide? I, certainly, not.
